Mainecoon cats are known to be gentle, calm and sociable. Affectionate without being demanding, Mainecoons have an almost dog-like devotion to their owners. Some people also say they are attuned to emotional needs, a characteristic that makes them a perfect companion animal.

Sometimes described as ‘puppy cats’ or ‘puppy-like’, Mainecoon cats make excellent family pets because they love to be around people and are much more affectionate than the average cat

The Mainecoon is a placid cat but does not really go limp when you hold her. She is even tempered and gets along well with all family members.
